Comprehensive Estate and Medicaid Planning Evaluations

The Weber Law Offices begins its representation of many clients with a comprehensive estate and long term care planning evaluation. This evaluation process provides the best planning strategies to pursue to meet the objectives of the client. The complex and ever-evolving rules of Medicaid are taking on an increasingly important role with respect to traditional estate planning concerns. A knowledge of elder law, therefore, is absolutely critical for a truly comprehensive estate evaluation and plan.

Medicaid Advocacy

The Weber Law Offices also prepares and submits the Medicaid application and related documents to the appropriate governmental agency. The Medicaid rules vary significantly from state to state, and Ms. Weber is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri. At the client’s request, the firm handles all communications with the Medicaid agency, thereby removing the client as much as possible from the tedious and sometimes frustrating application process. Often, the state’s goal is to limit the amount of benefits paid, and the firm advocates for its clients, assisting them with the Medicaid qualification process, including “division of assets.” In addition, the firm represents clients in connection with Medicaid appeals at administrative and court hearings. Karen H. Weber is committed to representing her clients with integrity, honesty, and confidentiality.

Guardianship and Conservatorship Services

The Weber Law Offices also represents clients seeking guardianship and conservatorship of relatives who can no longer manage their personal or financial affairs. Alternatives and options to consider are also provided.

Special Needs Planning

The Weber Law Offices assists clients with disabilities by legally planning for their long term needs. The firm provides information about planning options, drafts supplemental needs trusts and other documents, and advises trustees of trusts for the benefit of disabled persons concerning trust administration. The firm also advises the parents or other family members of disabled persons on how they can effectively provide for their loved one, with careful regard for preserving eligibility for Medicaid and other public entitlements.
